Mariners, MLB, MLBPA To Donate $225K To Slide Recovery Efforts

(1090 The Fan) —  The Seattle Mariners are stepping in to help out with the Oso mudslide recovery efforts.

The team announced Wednesday that it — along with MLB and the Players Association — will be donating $225,000 to the cause. The donation will be made to the American Red Cross Washington Landslide Relief Fund, which is assisting with disaster relief and recovery at the site of the mudslide across State Route 530.

Additionally, volunteers for the Red Cross will be collecting donations from the public outside the gates of Safeco Field during the Mariners 2014 home Opening Night, on Tuesday, April 8, when the Mariners meet the Los Angeles Angels.

In a release, Mariners CEO Howard Lincoln says the organizations thoughts and prayers are with the people of Oso, Washington.
