Johnathan Joseph Hasn’t Been Approached About Restructuring, But Would Consider It

Houston (CBS Houston)  – Texans cornerback Johnathan Joseph has a cap number of $11.25 million next season, leading to speculation that he could become a ‘cap casualty’ this off-season.

With free agency less than a day away, this is the time of the year teams normally begin to approach veterans about contractual issues. But to this point the Texans have had no dialogue with Joseph about his contract.

« I haven’t heard anything, » Joseph said at Andre Johnson’s Inaugural Celebrity Golf Tournament. « Obviously, it’s out of my control. »

Joseph has two more years left on his deal, meaning the Texans could convert some of his base salary to a signing bonus and spread the cap  hit over the next two years. If that’s something the Texan wanted to do, Joseph would listen.
